SNOWDEN COPS COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS

Jackson, January 10 -- House Speaker Tim Ford today appointed State Representative Greg Snowden (R - Meridian) to five important House Committees. Snowden will serve on the Municipalities, Judiciary (B), Juvenile Justice, Conservation and Water Resources, and Constitution committees.

"I am very pleased with and excited by my assignments," said Snowden, who is beginning his first term. "I am confident that my committee service will both challenge and fulfill me with important work on behalf of the people of Lauderdale County."

Two senior Lauderdale County representatives retained their respective committee chairmanships, as Tommy Horne (I - Meridian) was re-appointed to chair the powerful Rules committee, and Charles Young (D - Meridian) was again selected as chairman of the Universities and Colleges committee.

Lieutenant Governor Amy Tuck is expected to announce Senate committee assignments later in the week.
